Woo Audio introduces the all-new and improved 3rd generation of their award-winning WA7 Fireflies. The WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) builds upon its predecessor and features dual 12AU7 high-performance vacuum tubes for the amplification stage to delight the eyes and ears alike. The Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) now features a built-in linear power supply and employs a balanced headphone output driven by the pair of 12AU7 vacuum tubes and also embeds ESS Sabre DAC, allowing you to enjoy music from streaming services such as TIDAL, Qobuz and Apple Music HD in lossless resolution. The WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) is also a tube preamplifier enabling you to integrate WA7 fireflies with your home speaker system or drive a pair of desktop-powered speakers to enjoy the uncompromised sound.
Nearly a decade ago, we set out to create an attractive, high-performance vacuum tube amplifier that will delight the eyes and ears of music lovers. The original WA7 fireflies headphone amplifier/DAC was born. We are proud to introduce to you the improved 3rd generation of our award-winning WA7 fireflies.
Keeping the same elegant look that makes WA7 fireflies unique, the new 3rd gen now features a built-in linear power supply making the setup a breeze and a one-box solution. In addition, the 3rd gen employs a balanced headphone output driven by a pair of 12AU7 vacuum tubes. The power output is over 1.5w of power per channel @4 Ohms; ideal for a wide range of IEM (in-ear monitors) and power demanding full-sized headphones. The user-replaceable vacuum tubes can be upgraded at any time to customize the sound to the listener’s preference. The class-leading performance ESS SABRE DAC allows the user to enjoy music from streaming services such as TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, and Amazon Music HD in lossless resolution.

This allows you to enjoy high-quality music from streaming services such as TIDAL, Qobuz and Apple Music in HD in lossless resolution. The Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) also offers XMOS xCORE-AUDIO asynchronous USB connectivity, with compatibility for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices (with Apple CCK or Android OTG adapter). This USB connection allows you to use the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) with virtually any device and enjoy your music in outstanding quality. The unit features 1 high-retention USB connector to facilitate connectivity with various devices like iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Mac and Windows systems.

Woo Audio takes great pride that the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) is assembled in Brooklyn, New York, USA – from foreign and domestic components. The team at Woo Audio emphasises quality in every aspect of the devices while maintaining a high standard. This is reflected in the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) with its high-quality construction. It includes a pair of Nickel Alloy core output transformers, all-aluminium chassis with no screws visible from any viewing angles. A thick block of superior quality, removable high clarity glass is provided to protect the tubes while maintaining a clean and elegant aesthetic. The Tube sockets are designed of Premium Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The removable glass allows for ‘Tube Rolling’, so you can easily change the sound quality by trying different audio tubes. The WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) features a built-in linear power supply, making the set-up a breeze and a one-box solution. On the I/O side, the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) offers USB input along with RCA analogue input and for the outputs, you get 4.4mm (5-pole) Pentaconn balanced headphone output, 6.3mm (1/4”) stereo headphone output, and for the Pre-Out, you can use the 4.4mm or the 6.3mm stereo pre outputs on the rear panel.

In the box, you get 2 x 12AU7 / 5693 vacuum tubes along with a protective glass with 4 anti-slip silicone glass pads. This helps you set your WA7 Fireflies in minutes and assures it’s secured. You also get 1 Standard USB-C OTG to B cable and 1 Standard USB-A to USB-B cable to easily connect your iOS, Android, Mac or Windows device without any hassle. The included power cable supports (100v-240v) without a converter and delivers the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) with ample power. You also get a quick start guide for more information on the device. The inclusion of these accessories is considered and allows you to enjoy your music right out of the box.
HEADPHONE AMP AND PRE-AMP FUNCTIONALITY WITH VACUUM TUBE GOODNESS FOR YOUR AUDIO
The team at Woo Audio have carefully designed the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) with high-quality component and added functionality previously unavailable. The internal amplification stage in the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) is Class A, a single-ended topology with transformer-coupled outputs. The Vacuum Tube stage has been updated to the 12AU7 vacuum tube option. These particular tubes are easy to find and user-replaceable, allowing for quick replacement and even upgradability to suit your sonic preference. The power output is over 1.5w of power per channel at 4 Ohms, which is ideal for a wide range of IEM (in-ear monitors) and power-hungry full-sized headphones. WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) also offers Pre-Amplification functionality as requested by many Woo Audio users. You can now connect your home speaker or use the WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen) to drive desktop-powered speakers via the 4.4mm 5-pole Pentaconn connector on the rear panel or the 6.3mm (1/4”) stereo preamp output for quick connectivity.
