Premium Drivers With Atmospheric Immersion Tuning Switch:-
Dunu has equipped the SA6 with a premium six balanced armature driver setup on each side. It is tuned by professional acoustic engineers at Dunu to unlock the full sonic potential of all the drivers and get rich detailed sound output. It utilizes two Sonion AcuPass Vented Dual Woofers for the lower end, two Knowles custom drivers for mid-frequencies, and two Knowles custom drivers for the high-frequencies. The pair has an impeccable sonic performance, it is fun, it is detailed, it is enjoyable, it pairs well with your sources, and it makes your music come to life. Each earpiece features an atmospheric immersion DIP switch that increases the lower end performance when turned on.
Handmade Premium Ear Shells:-
The earpieces in DUNU SA6 are hand-poured, hand-finished UV acrylic shells and features beautiful solid stabilized wooden faceplates. The pair looks like a beautiful piece of art and pair it with the bundled SPC cable, voila you got yourself a beauty. They indeed have outstanding looks and catches eyes in a crowded place easily.
Premium Cable With Replaceable Termination Plugs:-
DUNU SA6 features a premium silver-plated monocrystalline copper cable with their patented quick-switch modular termination plugs. The package includes 4.4mm Bal, 3.5mm SE, and 2.5mm Bal termination plugs. So whichever headphone output port your audio source has, the DUNU SA6 supports them out of the box that too with an audiophile-grade premium cable.
I was admittedly sceptical initially of how the DUNU Studio SA6 would perform after being somewhat underwhelmed by its younger sibling the SA3. However, once I started listening, it was easy to tell the SA6 is a much more complete product.
It has great tonal balance, dynamics, detail and clarity. Despite being uncoloured and accurate in tone, it still sounds organic and inviting. The SA6 is not only a great option as a professional studio monitor, but it’s also perfect for discerning audiophiles looking for accuracy and musicality. In fact, it’s so good that I’m adding it to my best IEMs list.
As I mentioned earlier, the SA6 reminds me quite a bit–in both tonality and presentation–of the Blessing 2. However, to me, the SA6 feels like a refinement. The tonal differences that the SA6 has to the Blessing 2 are almost exactly the ones I would have personally wanted to see had I used EQ on the latter. Additionally, I appreciate the soundstage and detail retrieval gains that the SA6 offers, even if it concedes in the dynamics department.
I think that for the listening experience it delivers at $549.99, the SA6 undoubtedly sets a standard for IEMs under $1000. Needless to say, then, with its excellent tonal balance and technical performance, the SA6 gets a very strong recommendation from me–it’s a great headphone that is definitely worth experiencing.
